Greetings from MPDPA!

 

MPDPA was formed in 1968, with the aim of addressing matters concerning the Private Practitioners of Malaysia. It is thus my pleasure to serve as President in this 50 year old prestigious Association. As we look back in retrospect, we can take pride in the rapid progress of Dentistry in our country. All of these changes, we owe to our Past and Present Members of our Profession who have continually dedicated themselves towards making changes and progress to this field.

 

In the field of dentistry, competitiveness is the key in order to provide better service to our people. We have to find ways to enhance old practices and replace them with current trends and new age technology to keep abreast with the latest in the field of dentistry worldwide. MPDPA has thus played a role in this by organising numerous and various Continuing Professional Development (CPD) seminars and workshops , Congresses for our Dental Assistants and have also collaborated with both Local and International Dental Associations in organizing Joint Dental Conferences for our members. Attendance at these conferences and meetings besides being educational it also allows us to meet new and old friends or acquaintances, promote goodwill and fellowship , enhance better understanding in our Profession and thus develop confidence in ourselves.

 

Over the years and to date, MPDPA has also been working hand in hand with The Ministry of Health, the Malaysian Dental Council and other Government bodies to look into Dental Regulations and other relevant matters to ensure it protects our Profession and our roles as Private Practitioners in this country.

 

Having said so, MPDPA has teamed up with Zurich Professional Indemnity Insurance to provide our members with a Comprehensive Professional Protection scheme at an affordable rate. It is not only mandatory for every Practitioner to own a Professional Indemnity Insurance to renew your Practicing Certificate in future, but there is nothing like feeling secured while you practice and earn an Income!

 

As the country’s dental profession looks forward to the next hundred years, MPDPA continues to aim towards higher standards of excellence at the same time demonstrating a sincere desire to champion the best interest of our Private Practitioners.

 

Unity is strength. As the famous saying goes; “ United We Stand, Divided We Fall “. All of MPDPA efforts, would not be possible without the continuous support from my Committee Members and members of this Association. I do hope to get more support and participation from all Private Practitioners in the near future , so that united we can stand as one voice. And I do believe that with one voice we can make a difference, but many voices together we can make a change.
